OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicle)
Procedures for claiming a grant on behalf of the client.
The government offers grants to support the wider use of electric and hybrid vehicles via the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV).
The OLEV grant is conditional on the client and the installer fulfilling certain criteria and is not guaranteed, by the scheme. The grant is available for up to 75% of the installation (approx. £667) up to a maximum of £500. This is for eligible electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid cars only.
Rolec pricing policy, includes the following.
Rolec standard pricing is published on their web site, it includes 10 metres cable and a single hole through the wall to the consumer board. Most installations will require additional earthing to comply with need BS7671 electrical standards for electric vehicle charging, this what we call a standard earth kit. Your installation must comply with Building Regulations Part P (Electrical Safety – Dwellings) and signed off by us.
We strongly recommend that a load survey is undertaken, that way we (you and Inspired Renewables) can be certain that your property will meet the load requirements and electrical standards. The cost for the survey is £90 including VAT, £45 will be deducted from your installation cost should you go ahead. Whilst our engineer is on site doing the load and electrical survey you can discuss your options on how the EV charger is cabled, and installed. Inspired Renewables will then give you a quote for the installation of the EV car charger. Once the survey is done we can submit the results to Energy Networks Association, this includes what the maximum demand will be on your property once the charger is installed, and what the earthing arrangements are either already installed or are going to be installed as per BS 7671. We will need your MPAN number from your electricity bill for this form.
Annex D Part 1 (The form that OLEV requires for you to receive the grant)
This needs to be filled in by you the owner, this form cannot be filled in any more than 6 weeks before the installation. You will need proof of ownership of the car (V5C) or an order confirmation. This can be filled in by you, the customer while the installation is being completed.
This can be booked once a Quote is accepted, full payment is due 7 days before installation.
Annex D Part 2
This form needs to be completed after installation with information provided by us, this form must be signed by the property owner.
Evidence that is required to go with the claim
- Copy of V5C or order confirmation
- Photographic evidence of the off-street parking with the charger visible and another one of the charger on the wall with the serial number clearly visible – we will take these on completion of installation.
- Copy of the domestic installation certificate, supplied by us.
If the forms are not completed correctly and the evidence is not provided the claim can be rejected, if this happens an invoice for the £500 will be raised. As this is Government Grant money, it is very important we follow the correct procedures as Inspired Renewables is audited to keep our OLEV accreditation.
